The unexpected news of the death of Mary Tamm on 26th July 2012 hit me for six. She was the stunningly beautiful, sassy, sophisticated, erudite first incarnation of the Time Lady Romana. Yet another part of my childhood that has detached itself into the ether. So many lost so recently, the pain never seems to leave us. I loved Mary, I loved Romana.
