Mental Floss has Doctor Who: Mangling History. Doctor Who has a long and noble history of attempting to convey history to its young viewers. It has not always been completely successful, however. Here are a few stories where they dipped into history — but didn’t get the history quite right....

PurpleBlancmange has The 1996 Doctor Who TV Movie Sonic Screwdriver Prop. "The other day, I was on the Gallifrey Base forum and a photograph of both the original TARDIS toolkit and the Sonic Screwdriver prop from the Paul McGann 1996 Doctor Who TV movie was put up and it was the screwdriver that caught my eye.  I immediately recognised it for what it really was… so I was right all along...."

Podcasts and VBlogs...
Beware most podcasts are of an adult nature and are not suitable for children.

Articles of the Shadow Proclamation has Article 40 – Run! In which Scott and Calliope reminisce about the beginning of the new who, and generally talk about the 9th Doctor episode, Rose.

The Time Meddlers has Episode 12. It may have been cancelled back in 1979, but 'Shada' lives on in Gareth Roberts' novelisation of the story. It's this very book that is reviewed by Ian Redman, David Morgan and PCJonathan in this episode of The Time Meddlers...

Impossible Podcasts has Colin Baker Q&A - SFX Weekender 2012. The sixth Doctor speaks! The Untempered Schism Podcast has Episode 43 : The Unicorn and the Wasp. For the Tenth Doctor and Donna, there’s always time to crash a party, doubly so when it’s a party in 1926. It gets even better when the they discover the great mystery writer Agatha Christie is at the party and they arrive just in time to land in a murder right out of a game of Cluedo. Just to add to the fun, both The Unicorn and the Wasp are running around, and Ms Christie is due to go missing that very evening.

Review's Roundup...

Siskoid's Blog of Geekery has Doctor Who 165: The Evil of the Daleks Part 1. We're still at Gatwick airport, continuing directly from the previous episode's theft of the TARDIS, but it doesn't feel at all like we're in the same story. Where The Faceless Ones was dull and spare, The Evil of the Daleks, even in this prologue episode, is dynamic and exciting. In fact, aside from the place and era, it feels like director Derek Martinus and writer David Whitaker are actively responding to The Faceless Ones and doing everything in the opposite way....

Tachyon TV has Happy Happy Joy Joy - Ace Adventures on DVD. There’s a famous story that tells how Samuel Beckett was walking with a friend on a glorious sunny afternoon in London. The friend was moved to say, just as Helen A, the leader of Terra Alpha says towards the end of The Happiness Patrol, that it was the kind of day that makes one happy to be alive. Beckett paused and frowned before eventually replying “I wouldn’t go that far.” Having watched the Ace Adventures boxset which brings together two stories from the Sylvester McCoy era – Dragonfire and The Happiness Patrol – I know just how he felt....
