Doctor Who 2013 Calendar

Podcasts and VBlogs...
Beware most podcasts are of an adult nature and are not suitable for children.

Doctor Who: Adventures in Time, Space and Music has Minisode 7 – Series 1, Part III – Stock Music and John Smith and the Common Men. In this minisode we’ll be looking at a piece of stock music used in the Pilot and Serial A - Story 1 - The Unearthly Child, the first of a four-part story comprising of An Unearthly Child, The Cave of Skulls, The Forest of Fear and the Firemaker which originally aired between the 23rd of November and the 14th of December 1963.

The Sonic Toolbox has Episode 28: Cyber Revengers. So we watched Revenge of the Cybermen, the 1977 return of the Cybermen. Now we review it. Just remember, it's Vogans not Vogons.

Radio Free Skaro has Episode 306 – XYP-A-Dee-Doo-Dah. With only slightly more news than the most unnewsiest Radio Free Skaro ever, the Three Who Rule pretty much get right to this week’s commentary, blathering all over the (somewhat) unfairly maligned Nightmare of Eden. In a story that tackles some pretty dark and adult subjects like drug abuse, and featuring outlandish faux-German accents at the same time, Shaun Lyon, Program Director for the Gallifrey One convention, joined in the festivities, as it is his hands-down favorite Who story, and a story he defended with great aplomb. But what did the rest of your hosts think?

Pharos Project has Episode 96: Morris Dancers From Hell. This week, it's a shambles! The three intrepid Projecteers were desperate to get out for a booze up and one of them hadn't watched the story. Still, they do their best to review "The Daemons".

Tid-Bits...

RedBubble.com has Beans are evil. Bad, bad beans by Antigoni.

Rich's ComixBlog has A Time to Kill - 016. Bond is set upon by a gang of thugs, he beas down one, but a particularly large man grabs him just as he was about to retrieve his gun.

Nerd Approved has TARDIS Lockers At Gallifrey High. "I would have loved this in high school, but a lot of stuff needs to happen in order to make it possible. First, your school needs to be cool enough to allow you to paint your lockers...."

Review's Roundup...

The Daily P.O.P. has Big Finish- Robophobia. All is not well aboard a star freighter transporting a massive cargo of VOC robots. The Doctor arrives to find that his previous encounter the mechanical servants aboard a sandminer has been mainly forgotten and only survived as a tale greatly altered to make the company look good. Unfortunately, trying to hush up a murder spree does not prevent a similar series of killings from taking place, apparently perpetrated by the VOC robots, and no one can stop the body count from rising....

planetzogblog has Doctor Who 3.9: The Family of Blood review. After Martha skilfully turns the tables on the Family and allows the occupants of the hall to escape, the story almost – almost – transforms into a traditional “base under siege”, with the school as the “base”....

TARDIS Eruditorum has Little Green Blobs in Bonded Polycarbite Armour (Resurrection of the Daleks). There is no such thing as a great era of Doctor Who that has ended without a great Dalek story. The Pertwee era’s inability to quite stick the landing on any of its Dalek stories is emblematic of the nagging doubts plaguing that era. The fact that the Williams era went to pieces on its Dalek story is almost a perfect metaphor for its failings....

Siskoid's Blog of Geekery has Doctor Who 146: The Highlanders Part 4. The slave ship is liberated, Grey arrested, and Jamie joins the TARDIS crew....
