Now I know that my blog is meant to all be about comedy, but I’d like to take a side step into another world that is equally close to my heart if I may…the parallel universe of science fiction.

I’m not just a nerd, but a complete and utter geek on every level, and a lot of my friendships have all formed (or started out initially) after a massive geek-out conversation.
But one science fiction show that has built more friendships than anything else and shaped my entire cultural outlook is Doctor Who. David Tennant was my doctor, Steven Moffat, Russell T Davies and Murray Gold (who provided the kick-ass instrumentals) my icons, and my Saturday nights have never quite been the same since it returned to the TV screens.

Since then I’ve discovered the old doctors, been to conventions, dressed up as Rose for a birthday party (I wanted to be the doctor, but wasn’t allowed), and met people who write kick-ass tunes about the famous time traveller…(don’t know what I’m talking about? Music about Doctor Who may sound sad ….go on admit it…you’re picturing nerds that don’t leave the house, sitting in their knitted scarves while thinking up their own time travelling theories right?…….well then you need to listen to Chameleon Circuit….you’ll soon change your mind…
