Hey, it's another Doctor Who infographic!Read more and get the full size image here
This time rather than showcase individual characters, I decided to focus on one particular episode: Pyramids of Mars. I'll probably do more episode specific infographics as time permits. There've been over 200 stories so far (consisting of over 770 episodes), so that should keep me busy for a while.

Big Finish has Companion Chronicles Day. Saturday October 22 is Doctor Who: The Companion Chronicles Day, when – for one day only – the first season of the audio series will be available at massively discounted prices, only from www.bigfinish.com. Each individual CD can be purchased from the website for £5.00, while the entire season of four stories is just £16.00. “The Companion Chronicles has been a success story for us,” says executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery, “and this one-day sale should allow those who’ve never heard one to jump aboard and find out what the fuss is about. Sadly, due to contractual reasons, we’re only able to offer this first series on CD – there will be no downloads of the stories”.......

The Scarifyers has Oh crumbs! It's Terry Molloy! He has brought inept paranormal investigator and terrible author Professor Edward Dunning to life. But he's best known for playing milkman Mike Tucker in Radio 4's long-running drama serial The Archers , and for the role of Davros, creator of the evil Daleks, in Doctor Who . In real life he is neither a milkman nor a crippled alien genius, but a winning combination of both.

Review's Roundup...
The Daily Drew has "Revenge of the Cybermen" - Part Three. This story introduced one of the most unfortunate elements of Cyberman "mythology", and one that would bedevil the poor creatures throughout the remainder of the classic series. It seems that gold is somehow inimical to their function. The reason for this is infuriatingly vague. Evidently, gold "clogs up their chest units, and in effect suffocates them". Okay. Wait, really? Okay. ...

TARDIS Eruditorum has The Face of the Devil Himself (Genesis of the Daleks). There are a handful of stories in Doctor Who history that can be shortened to one word titles where the title is not the monster. But if you talk to a Doctor Who fan about Genesis, they know what you're talking about, and it's not Peter Gabriel's old band. This story is flat-out one of the most iconic stories of Doctor Who. Given that our approach to the series is tinged with the alchemical, and that we do take an actively mystical view of the series at times, we must tread with some care here. This is, if you will, a piece of sacred ground in the psychochronography of this territory....

Doctor Who Methadone 2008-2010 has "The Wedding of River Song". For the first time since the programme’s return, there has been a change to the format of the season. Gone is the epic two-part finale but, it appears that the length of a story does not necessarily affect its epicosity (sic)- it is amazing just how much Moffat manages to include in a single episode that is not even an extended one, without making the story seemed rushed. The pre-title sequence is the utterly dazzling one that we have come to expect from Moffat- Earth where all of history happens at once, where pterodactyls swoop around Hyde Park, cars are hoisted aloft by Montgolfier balloons and Winston Churchill rules the Holy Roman Empire from Buckingham Palace....

The Daily P.O.P. has Doctor Who and The Keeper of Traken. The final year of Tom Baker’s reign is a strange experience. The longest reigning actor in the role of the Doctor (to date), Tom Baker had crafted the character into an extension of himself. When interviewed years later when he returned to the part in a series of audios he laughingly stated that he’d never stopped being the Doctor because the Doctor was him. A rambunctious and wild actor in his first few years on Doctor Who, Tom Baker is humbled in his last few stories, a faded memory of the man he once was....

The Doctor Who News Page has Save Doctor Who Confidential - Campaign update. As news broke last week of the cancellation of Doctor Who Confidential, a campaign was immediately set up to try and save the show from being axed. The Save Doctor Who Confidential campaign has now gained over 30,000 signatures in an online petition. The campaign has been supported by various people in the media, including writer of The Doctor's Wife, Neil Gaiman. He said via his Twitter account: "I think Doctor Who Confidential is one of the best shows about television out there, even eating aside the Dr Who...". Ben Foster, conductor for Doctor Who and composer for Torchwood said: "this show educated and thrilled kids and adults alike - hope someone sees sense and reverses this decision." We asked Save Doctor Who Confidential a few questions about their campaign.....

Draculasaurus has Alien civilizations in modern Doctor Who, Seeing alien cultures and civilizations is one of my favorite things about science fiction. Doctor Who is a show about a man who has all of space and time at his finger tips. It's a show that's full of alien cultures, isn't it?...
Bigger On The Inside has “He’s ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and can see the turn of the universe”. 99% of students who graduate from the Academy will live perfectly ordinary lives. They’ll spend their lives within the capital city, walking the same corridors for centuries and reading the same dusty old texts. Those who do leave the planet do so in the service of their superiors. They might not even step out of their TARDIS, simply using it to observe and report, never interfering. Then they return home, to fill out the mountains of paperwork....

tor.com has What Does the Silence Need With a Spacesuit? (And Other Narrative Failures of “The Wedding of River Song”). Being overly concerned with clarity and consistency is probably not the best outlook for a fan of science fiction television, particularly if that show is Doctor Who. As with a lot of sci-fi TV, there’s a generally a style-over-substance mentality pervading the writing of Who. Often there’s not a good thematic reason for having a funny alien, a time paradox, or a convoluted mystery on Doctor Who other than the fact that it’s simply that kind of show....

The Cosmic Hobo has Serial Review: The Robots of Death (Season 14), It only took about three minutes of watching “The Robots of Death” to realize that I was watching the Doctor Who interpretation of Isaac Asimov’s robot stories, featuring basically the same laws of robotics as featured in Asimov’s series.
