Doctor Who Action Figures: The 7th Doctor

Forbidden Planet
Mercurial and highly moral, this Doctor would often despair at the cruelty and wastefulness he encountered across the galaxies. On a trip to America in 1999, he was accidentally gunned down by a street gang and taken to
hospital, where the procedures taken to try and save him did the reverse and he seemingly died, only to regenerate within the hospital’s morgue…
In this exclusive set we present the Seventh Doctor action figure in the costume first seen in ‘Time and the Rani’ with hat, cream jacket and umbrella accessory.
Due for release on the 13th December from Forbidden Planet.
This item can only be supplied to UK and Irish customers.

The Londonist has The Shard Of Dalek, the latest release from Wikileaks exposes the truth about the Shard development at London Bridge. We’ve been told that they’re assembling the tallest building in Western Europe, but this is only part of the truth. Wikileaks has now revealed a secret concept image, showing the true construction goal. The blueprints, seen by Londonist, make frequent reference to a shady contractor by the name of ‘Mr D. Avros’. Is this some nefarious Dalek plot to exterminate London?

While these scripts were credited to Robert Sloman, they were actually written by Sloman and Barry Letts, just like "The Daemons" from last season. By keeping Letts's name out of the credits, they didn't have to resort to a psuedonym to avoid violating BBC policy about people doing multiple jobs on the same production."
Geek Crafts: Dalek for a Good Cause
Read more at geekcrafts.comA good friend of mine is raising money to help a friend with stage 3 ovarian cancer. You can help by bidding on her crafty auctions for items such as this amazing Dalek or by purchasing an ornament in The Fiercegrrl Fund Ornament Shop (including some made by yours truly).
About the Dalek:Please click through and buy something to help an amazing crafter!I watched Nicholas create this at the ornament party and I was wowed by his commitment to detail and his inventive use of repurposed materials. He stood next to the hot glue gun for hours, meticulously placing each layer of evergreen fringe. This piece is about 5″ wide and stands about 9″ tall. It could easily take the place of a tree topper or could function as an ornament or decor item somewhere in your home.
The Dalek the Halls will be carefully packed and shipped to you via priority mail so you can enjoy your Dr. Wholiday with it. Though this piece is truly priceless, I don’t think we should accept less than $50. Let the bidding begin!

SUTEKH’S CUSHION
Find out what the other 99 Things We Love About Who are in Doctor Who: A Celebration, on sale now.
The Weeping Angels may have no need of comfy chairs, but the Big Bad of “Pyramids Of Mars” does. Sutekh is a being with god-like powers, an appetite for destruction and, evidently, a rather sensitive bottom. As he rises from his throne, released from centuries of bondage in an Egyptian pyramid, a crew member’s hand can be glimpsed holding down a cushion so it doesn’t undermine the gravitas of the moment by adhering to the alien’s arse. Like boom microphone shadows or cameras bumping into the set, it’s a delight to spot.

Doctor Who sonic screwdriver could become real device
Doctor Who's trusted sonic screwdriver could become a real-life tool following
research being conducted by British engineers.
Engineers have developed a device that is capable of moving and manipulating
objects using only ultrasonic sound waves. They say the technology could eventually lead to devices that can undo screws, assemble electronics and putting together delicate components. The news will no doubt delight young fans of Doctor Who who have dreamed of owning a sonic screwdriver of their own after watching their hero use the tool to get himself out of many sticky situations.
Read more at www.telegraph.co.ukBut while the Doctor’s device can perform a multitude of tasks from cutting, burning, welding, sending signals, controlling the TARDIS, altering mobile phones and healing wounds, the researchers warn their real life sonic screwdriver will have more limited capabilities.
Professor Bruce Drinkwater, an ultrasonics engineer at the University of Bristol, said: “We have developed a device that allows us to use ultrasonicforces to move small objects like biological cells around to sort them or to assemble them.“We are using quite low forces to do this because we don’t want to damage the
“If we can increase the ultrasonic force and create a rotational force, then we could potentially undo screws. Essentially what you are doing is using the ultrasonic sound wave to twirl the air around to create an miniature tornado.”
objects we are moving, but the technology is definitely real and there is
potential to turn it into something like Dr Who’s sonic screwdriver.

Inside TV has 'Torchwood' exclusive: Would U.S. version turn Capt. Jack straight?, not if John Barrowman has anything to say about it, Torchwood‘s leading man (and upcoming Desperate Housewives guest star) tells me it’s his strong preference that Fox’s in-the-works American version of his BBC smash would not tinker with his character’s sexuality.
Daily Mail has River's back! Alex Kingston returns to the Doctor Who set, while Karen Gillan tries to make the Time Lord jump, .....she was recently spotted out in the Utah desert with the current doctor Matt Smith, where filming has been taking place - marking the first time that the show has ever been filmed in the US.

The threat is that when the Investigator's ship refuels, they'll all be killed by exposure to thesium radiation. Ok, that's fine. The trouble is that they escape from this, then get recaptured, and put back again. There is no better example of the tedious redundancy of this story than that.
Bigger On The Inside has “Have you ever thought what it's like to be wanderers in the fourth dimension? Have you?...”, we begin with the very first episode of Doctor Who, The Unearthly Child. After all, that’s how it all started.
