Noel Clarke has said he "could not be happier" about Matt Smith being cast as the new Doctor Who.
The actor, who played Mickey Smith in the hit sci-fi series, said Matt was the right person to take over from David Tennant.
"I'm absolutely chuffed that Matt Smith is the Doctor. I don't know the guy, but I could not be happier," he said.
He added that Matt, the youngest ever Doctor at 26, would have "no baggage".
"It's going to be fantastic. I know he's going to be brilliant. He's going to be his own Doctor," he said.
